Duckie - What’s the deal? (for those don’t read Chinese)

Some friends ask why can’t they read my blog, so here you go.... this is how the story begins

Once upon a time (that’s about 2 months ago), in the Carpark of an office building comes a mother cat, a pregnant one, looking for a spot to settle down, the security guy trying to get her away but she just won’t go; My wife went to see her once in a while, and one day, this mother cat came to her, and keep meowing for a while, then off she go, she’s gone......

About the same time when mother cat toke off, 2 little kittens were found next to a cafe (HK style stalls), the owner start to feed them and let them stay, and that’s where my wife went to everyday.

One of the kittens, which have a nice tiger strips, were adopted by one of the customer right away, the stall owner keep trying to talk her down to take the other one as well, but she refused, coz’ the other one don’t looks good - skinny, white fur with some markings, what kills is the marks on the kittens mouth. Poor little kitten already lost her mom,  now she lost her brother and stuck within this “cafe”, looking for her bother everyday ‘round the area, waiting, she won’t eat and drink, just being sad everyday, alone.

Whenever my wife go to the cafe, she came over, my wife found that she’s barely grown over weeks, seems the same size when she was found 3 weeks ago, so she discussed this with me and decided to save her off the street and try to find her a home. Looking at this poor little thing reminds her about the mother cat, they looks identical, almost have the same markings, now she realize, the other day  when mother cat tried to talk to her before she’s gone, she must be asking for help to take care of her babies......

We toke her home, this little babe were so calm on the way home, we knew she had to be quarantine since we have other cats at home, so I fixed the shower booth for her; Staying in the pet bag for hours, not even moved by all the cat food  we fed, alright, she’ll need sometime to settle down....... few hours later, I start to worry, so I just grab her out of the bag to check if everything is fine, she didn’t reject me, and start eating eventually. Stretched out a little bit after meal, I hold her in my arms, seems to me she really enjoyed it, after all, she seldom feel “love” ever since she was born, and now, she’s home, finally!

She was “meowing” all the way since we first met, like any other cat, but once she got used to her new home, she start making these strange sound, “guik guik”, “heeeee” and the like, wait, these sound familiar to me.... Rubber Duck! Yep, those yellow rubber duck, whenever you squeeze them, they sound like that, I decided to name her - Duckie, named after the strange sound she made and what she been thru..... like ugly duckie, the story and hoping she’ll became a swan when she’s grown.

I rushed home to see Duckie, once she spotted me next to the bath room door, she cried out loud for a hug, sweet..... gave her a bath to get rid of the flea still staying in her fur, blow dry her carefully, uhh, she looks a lot more better now! She’s clean, and the fur on her is not stick anymore, as white as a , well, swan?

Start enjoying her adventure in the bathroom, and her new brother, “Lo”, must’ve taught her a trick or two, 1) Now she use her litter box exactly the same way “Lo” did, crawl real hard and looks extremely annoyed, and 2) yelling every morning and evening, it’s snack time, for canned fish.

Toke Duckie to the Vet, everything is fine, only there’s still some flea in the ears, have to be quarantine for another 2 months to make sure she don’t have any disease, to play safe.... poor little Dickie :(

Been 2 weeks at home now, seems she really love me, always calling for me and stay calm whenever I hold her in my arms, cute. Despite all the bath room cleaning (at least twice daily), and have to move things around whenever we need a shower, cleaning her ears twice a week and applying ear drops every day, whew, watching Duckie grow is joyful, seeing her getting bigger and healthier, seeing her eyes getting more bright everyday, seeing her being happy,  these are  my greatest reward, I love Rubber Duck =)
